This is a really good prequel because in a short amount of time it introduces you to a type of Fae, the lightbearers, with just enough about their history and powers to have you intrigued and wanting to read the rest of the series to come. In addition to that you have a sweet little love story between the main character Sabine and her King, and an interesting interlude with a shifter named Xander. I thoroughtly enjoyed it and I can't wait to read what happens next.
Great story that I really enjoyed. Liked the world building and the plotline. Story tells the history of the Lifhtbearers who came five hundred years ago. We are told about the war with the shifters as well.
A good short read that I read in one sitting. Can't wait to read the next book!
This delightful tale is sure to please the PNR fan! Set in a magical realm with conflicting paranormals, this tales explores one lightbearers free will choice rather than the path set for generations. Very entertaining tale with just the right amount of action and romance. There is even the proper splash of things yet to come. This short story is worth your quick read!
This is a delightful prequell to the Lightbearer series. This novella explains how the Lightbearers came to live in the human world and why they are so fearful of shifters. The characters are likable and you want to see them succeed in staying safe. There are moments of joy, shock, sadness, happiness and love; a definite roller coaster of emotions. This novella has me eager to the other books in this series. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
This short (and I believe, perma-free) novella introduces us to the world of Lightbearers, a supernatural race of beings who are being hunted by shifters.
I picked this up because I'm acquainted with the author via social media.
And I couldn't put it down. It was fast-paced, intriguing, the world-building was excellent, the scenes between both Sabine and James, and Sabine and Xander, super hot.
So, even though I have a TBR list a mile long, I could not wait to pick up and begin reading the rest of the series. Which I am loving.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Now, I did read the other books to this set before this one.
I was once again transported into the world of the light bears, but this book did answer some Q's from the other books but then gave me more Q's to ask... like what happened to the demon that was trapped in the glass as you do not hear about him in the other books ... What happened to the wolf who shared magic with the queen ... and As the past books written states its only by having sex with the shifter that the magic transforms.. but yet the soon to be Queen shared her magic but remained a virgin for her King.
Over all this is a great book even with the few new Q's it does brings up. It was a nice steady twisty book that makes you think a little bit while transporting you into a whole new world. Well written and entertaining. It is a quick read but you will need to buy the other books in the set to learn what happens next as it does give you a taste of the next book .. which is a very good way to see what your missing.
OH MY GOODNESS! I read so rapidly that this book was over before I knew it and thank goodness there is more as I can't quit the story NOW! I loved that Sabine showed her strength when faced with life or death. she was a food gather as her parents were before her, but she sucked at it as well as cooking! I loved the hunky king of the lightbearers, James Bennett, who saw who he wanted and he didn't back down! They were as far apart in social standings, but James did not care as he just knew that Sabine was his mate no matter WHAT his mother thought!
